The road goes ever on and on...

While browsing interests and communities, I came across lotr_walk, which led me to Walk to Rivendell. It doesn't look like either place is updating anymore, but I'm still definitely interested in doing this. I've been meaning to start walking/running again, and this just helps feed my geekery. Ideally, I'd love to do the whole thing, but we'll see about that.

Part of me thinks that I should wait until September 23 (the day Frodo and Sam left for their journey), but I really don't want to put this off because I have a bad habit of planning things and not doing them. So, for my sake, I'm going to start out tomorrow morning with the walk from Hobbiton to Rivendell - a total of 458 miles.

I should see if I can find an interactive-ish map of Middle-earth. I'd like to see how far I've gone.
